Thank You
To our incredible community, friends, and family,
We are beyond thrilled to share some amazing news: thanks to your overwhelming generosity and support, we have officially reached—and surpassed—our fundraising goal of $1,000 for the World Partnership Walk!
Why This Matters
The World Partnership Walk isn’t just about the steps we take; it’s about the lives we help transform. The $1,000 we raised together will go directly toward:
Fighting Global Poverty: Supporting sustainable development projects in Africa and Asia.
Empowering Women: Providing tools and education to help women lead their communities.
Health & Education: Ensuring children have access to the basic rights they deserve to build a brighter future.
A Massive Thank You
Whether you donated $5 or $100, shared our page, or simply cheered us on from the sidelines—Thank you! This achievement belongs to all of us. It is a powerful reminder that when we unite for a common purpose, we can create real, tangible change in the world.
What’s Next?
While we’ve hit our financial milestone, the journey doesn't end here. Our page will still be open to all those who are still wishing to donate to this cause.
We highly encourage those who have not yet participated to do so and get involved in any way they can! Once again any donation no matter the size makes a difference!
We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the Walk on May 31st! Let’s carry this momentum forward and continue to advocate for a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
With immense gratitude,
York ISA
What does fundraising mean to us?
1. Faith in Action: The Principle of Sadaqah
At its core, fundraising is a modern vehicle for the Ismaili tradition of giving. It is the practice of generosity (Sadaqah)—not as an act of charity from the "high to the low," but as a shared responsibility to improve the quality of life for all.2. Empowering Global Citizenship
As students at York, we are part of a global "Jamat." Fundraising allows us to look beyond the walls of the Keele, Glendon, or Markham campuses. Whether we are supporting the Aga Khan Foundation or local Toronto initiatives, we are participating in a global movement to alleviate poverty and promote self-reliance.
3. Building Community
The process of fundraising is often just as important as the funds themselves. It’s about:
Unity: Coming together as students to work toward a common goal.
Awareness: Using our platform to educate our peers at York about social issues.
Leadership: Developing the skills to organize, advocate, and lead with empathy.
4. Stewardship and Responsibility
To us, fundraising means being stewards of resources. We recognize that we are in a position of privilege as university students, and we have a duty to ensure that resources are channeled to where they are needed most, with full transparency and purpose. No matter what amount you give, every donation makes a difference!
