Late Khatoon And Abdul Dhanani

Our late Nanima (grandmother), Khatoon Abdul Dhanani, and our late Nanabapa (grandfather), Abdul Dhanani, were longtime supporters of the World Partnership Walk. For decades, they were leaders in the community, working tirelessly to educate people on the important work the Aga Khan Foundation Canada is doing to combat global poverty. To honour their memory, our family and friends have decided to organize a fundraising team annually for AKFC.

The World Partnership Walk is Canada's largest movement in support of global development. The Walk engages tens of thousands of Canadians each year. It has raised over $125 million since 1985, supporting more than 180 initiatives in 15 countries that have improved the quality of life for millions in Africa and Asia.

This year all funds donated will contribute to AKFC's wide range of development activities, including programs to improve health care, education, and gender equality.

Ever since we were little, our Nanima and Nanabapa encouraged us to help people. Whether through small acts of kindness like calling a loved one and saying that we appreciate them, or bigger things like advocating for equal rights, they were the people who taught us that we all have the power to make a difference.
