Every spring, thousands of Canadians from coast to coast lace up their sneakers to participate in the World Partnership Walk, Canada’s largest public movement dedicated to fighting global poverty.

With over 700 million people living on less than $2.15 a day, we’re raising funds that empower vulnerable communities and individuals break the cycle of poverty. Donating to our fundraising campaign will support transformative programs that improve access to quality education, essential health services, food security, and sustainable livelihoods worldwide.

Every Step Matters: Why We Walk

For over 40 years, the World Partnership Walk has brought Canadians together from coast-to-coast-to-coast with one shared purpose — creating a better future for vulnerable communities around the world.

But for many of us, this Walk is deeply personal.

We walk for the young girl who dreams of going to school but does not have access to education.

We walk for mothers who travel miles just to access basic healthcare for their children.

We walk for families striving to build brighter, healthier, and more stable futures.

On May 31, thousands of Canadians will come together once again for the World Partnership Walk — not just to raise funds, but to raise hope.

The funds raised through the Walk help empower communities around the world by supporting initiatives focused on girls’ education, healthcare access, food security, clean water, and economic opportunity. These are not temporary solutions; they are investments in long-term change that help break the cycle of poverty for generations to come.

Education changes everything. When girls are given the opportunity to learn, entire communities grow stronger. Access to healthcare means children can thrive, families can stay healthy, and futures become possible.

That is why we walk.

And while the cause is serious, the Walk itself is also a beautiful celebration of community. Families, friends, volunteers, and supporters come together to laugh, connect, and make a difference side by side. Every step reminds us that positive change happens when people come together with compassion and purpose.
